Great black and white photographers part 2

Gyula Halasz (Brassai) was born on September 9, 1899 in Budapest, Hungary. He was braught up in Hungary but when he was little he lived in Paris for a year while his father taught French. As a young man he studied painting and sculpture. But after collage he enlisted in the Austro-Hungarian army, and was in till tha war was over. In the 1920`s he became a jounalist. He did that for 4 years until his job moved him to Paris where he countinued being a journalist but was mesmorized by the beauty. So at night he would take photos of the beautiful city. He published a book called "Paris de nuit"(paris by night) in 1933. That book is what made him so famous. He moved to the U.S. and took many photos of famous people. He did that until he died on July 8, 1984.
